  • Given the massive demand for more professional medical services in China, China's healthcare market is still on the rise. However, with the uprising challenges in data and legal aspects, how should French tech startups in health tech navigate this opportunity and succeed in China?
    In Day 2 sessions, industry leaders, entrepreneurs & startup founders from health tech & the healthcare industry have come together in Shanghai to offer their valuable insights on the digital patient journey & pharmaceutical industry in China.
    Olivier Dessajan, General Manager of Colisee China and Co-Chairman of the French Healthcare Alliance, started the day by saying a few words about the healthcare industry in China. Most notably, he mentioned the ageing society problem, the growing chronic disease, and the private sector’s innovation. He also briefing explained how the central government has placed healthcare in the centre of the country’s agenda by pushing the “Healthy China 2030” plan to support this industry in its way to catch up with the more developed countries.

    Jens Ewert, the China Life Sciences and Health Care leader of Deloitte, took the audience through the trends, the transformation and concluded with some views they have at Deloitte about the outlook they have on China.
     
    Jens Ewert concluded his keynote by advising the audience to keep in mind is that the healthcare innovation here in China is going on at the China speed and to enter with advanced technology that can overcome the firewalls in China. Moreover, the ecosystem in China is moving from a B2B model to a B2C model. And finally, smart disease management and care are becoming the new normal in China.
